1. because you got a phone that requires a data plan

2. because you did not bother to actually read the terms of service you agreed to

3. because you authorized them t make you account valid with the device that you have on their service

 

The error is your side for not reading and understanding wha you are agreeing to - all carriers require a data plan for a smart phone - so when you pay your etf if any and leave, make sure you actually read the terms of service for your new provider - I hear cricket has an android now you can get
