Re: Why can't I install rg until after 8 pm?

LOL.  A 6 year old can install the new RG.  All  you do in unplug the old one, plug in the new one, and wait for it to sync.  If you insist on a truck roll, you will be charged $55.

You could lol all you want (lol) but I'm here to tell you that it is no walk in the park.  It took 2 prem techs and another on the phone to do my last RG switch.  If I owned my own equipment and I felt so inclined, that would be one thing but part of the "box" lease is for service.  AT&T wants to charge many of us for lease fees AND wants us to do the "grunt" work?  You must be kidding!  It's not truly plug and play, lol.  "Plug and lay, after 8 PM,."  "Plug and play and pray and pray" etc....  I do understand that someone might want the option of DIY but not if I'm already paying lease fees.  AT&T can't have it's cake and eat it too.

I will never pay for a truck roll, especially since I feel that I'm already paying.

I did agree to a mailout of a replacement remote.  My 2008 vintage model recently had the VOL down stop responding.  The original installer programmed it but I'll put on my big boy pants and try it, lol.  It's the receiver that I'm worried about.  Funny that that receiver doesn't work woith all universal remotes but it does work with the UV one.
