A customized Linux machine with 2 network interfaces can probably be set up to filter multicast, but that's about it. You would have to be really familiar with Linux to get it configured for this.
You could use powerline Ethernet adapters instead of running a new cable. Use one adapter at the RG and another at the wireless access point.
