My free sbcglobal.net email account was also hacked and now the password has been locked.  I have made a few phone calls to AT & T and so far no one has been able to help me.  Oddly enough my daughter's email account, which is a sub-account under our main email still works.....but ours is locked.  Can someone help me get a new password??
