As far as I read, even though txt messaging is meant to be used addressed to phone numbers, I beleive the documentation states that if you send a message to you phone from e-mail using the "txt" address i.e. mobile#@txt.att.net, the return address will be some sort of serial number that should allow you to reply to the message, however, on my samsung A177 gophone, this feature does not seem to be working, obviously I'll probably just make use of the "mms" address rather than the "txt" address, but I still want to know, should I be able to reply to a txt message from an e-mail address and expect the message to be properly returned?  Is there any configuration action I need to take to get this to work?
