General tethering questions

1)  I don't usually need to tether on a regular basis. If I need to tether for just 4 days, can I activate then cancel and only be charged for  4/30 of a month and have an alotment of 4/30 of 2 GB?

2)   Is ther an activate and de-activate charge?

3)  What is the difference between Enterprise thethering and non-enterprise tethering.

Re: General tethering questions

Technically yes you can.  No there is no activation/deactivation fees.

Just be aware of the pro-rated charges.

FYI the tethering plans are now 4GB total.  That 4GB can all be used on your iPhone, the device you are tethering, or a mixture between the two.

Re: General tethering questions

Thanks for that reply...   I have an iPhone. If I go to the settings/Network/Tethering control pannel and turn on Tethering am I activating Standard Tethering at $20/mon or Enterprise Tethering at $45/month?  I haven't been able to determine the difference between Enterprise tethering and non-enterprise tethering.

It would be the standard $20 addition.

You can also just go in and activate it via the Online Account Management under Features.

i know this is late but the enterprise vs personal is only referring to your email usage. if you connect your iphone to a corporate exchange servce you may need the enterprise plan.

It's not email usage.  It deals more with the physical connection.  Most people don't require it from experience.  I always find it easier/cheaper to try the regular data plan first and then if your having trouble with a corporate connect, go ahead and change.
