Noticing MORE Dropped Calls Lately?
[ Edited ]

YES!  I have been having the same problem since January 2012.  I've had my phone and AT&T service for two years with no problems at all.  And then, as of a few months ago, my calls are dropping like crazy.  I get one bar while inside, two if I'm lucky.  My calls not only are dropped, but my reception is bad as well.  If I'm on a call, either I can't hear all that is being said or they can't hear me.  I thought it was a problem with my phone, but Apple checked it out and it's fine.  We switched out the SIM card, deleted all information on the phone and then reloaded it, etc.  There is nothing that indicates that it is my phone.  AT&T said that they were working on putting up a new tower in my area, but couldn't explain anything else.  I cannot wait for the new tower which won't be up until August.  My phone is essential to my business and I cannot keep dropping calls.  I am thinking of going with Verizon.  Can anyone offer any advise?

What is your location? I live in northeast MI and have experienced more dropped calls in the past month than I ever have with AT&T. I called CS and they gave me a billing credit.

Re: Noticing MORE Dropped Calls Lately?

I have been noticing the same.  I am in the Detroit Metro Area - 18 miles from the center of Detroit.  Not only am I getting more dropped calls but extremely low service in my home - a ground floor-corner condo.  I have to place my phone in a specific location in my condo and leave it there in order to make phone calls or get text messages.

I have been an AT&T customer for over 10 years and this year the service is becoming untenable.

Re: Noticing MORE Dropped Calls Lately?

I have not noticed any except in areas that have always had weaker coverage HOWEVER, it is possible that as ATT repurposes spectrum to make room for LTE, what was a strong signal in 3G may be getting shifted to other bands and LTE will then get the better spectrum?

Note that in some markets, they are sunsetting Edge to make room for LTE.
