I gave some thought to disabling WPS in my system, Chris. As you'll remember I'm now using a Netgear dual band wireless router next to the RG plus a Netgear range extender located more centrally in our house. Everything went together so easily and, basically, set up so easily that I've been hesitant to fix something that doesn't seem to be broke by turning off the WPS. You know me and my little black cloud that hovers over me.....kind of like Murphy....if it can be screwed up I'm your guy because I can sure do that very easily. Anyway....I may try it, if I can locate the function in the router. Actually there is a button (huge blue lit thing) that turns the WPS on and off. I wonder if I just switch it off will the current settings remain so that my system continues to function OK or will I have to go through the complete manual setup procedure? I'll need pick a time when my wife is not using her iPad or laptop so I don't get snide remarks sent my way.![]()
Anyway....I just thought others might find this article that Bob Rankin wrote interesting.
