I never want to have another day like today EVER AGAIN!!! WARNING, this is long!
Made arrangements to have the rear brakes fixed on the car and was having my friend pick me up so I could show her some more stuff about Uverse.
I've had health issues and the latest one is a badly infected toe, that I would have gladly hacked off at 1AM to get it to stop hurting.
Was going to cancel everything when I tried an handful of motrin so the toe settled down and I decided to keep the appt for the car and would call the docs to get an antibiotic.
Normally, this would resolve itself with a bit of doctoring, but when you are diabetic and on prednisone, the steroids do stuff to your blood sugar, like make it rise and healing takes a lot longer.
Get to Goodyear at 8:15, called and left a message for my doctor, including the phone number where I would be at and my friend picked me up and we went back to her house.
First thing I see, the TV in the LR, the picture if frozen and would not come back up at all. In fact, even channels she should have had, weren't showing, so I tried the soft reset, using the remote, (okay, I'm lazy!
) and it would not reset!

Hit the power button, did the reset that way and got the TV back working fine, but then I find out, they have been having the freezing and pixelation issues for about the last week.
So, I go into the MDC and about dropped dead when I saw the numbers. Collected for 34 days, 4 BILLION corrected blocks, 4 MILLION uncorrected blocks, loss of signal errors, DSL unavailable and thousands of errors, regular and severe, so I called AT&T, T1, bumped me up to T2 and she had problems with the equipment sending her a reading and at that point I'm thinking....what else will go wrong??? (little did I know!)
So I read the numbers to her and she scheduled a tech visit for today between 10 and noon. The guy called and showed up there about 20 minutes later.
He saw the numbers so he went to the NID and then went to the VRAD on the other street, figuring he would maybe have to replace the port. He warned us the TV would go out, but when that happened, so went the phone too and little did I know, the doctors office and my husband were trying to get in touch with me as the doctor wanted to see me at noon and it was already after 11AM!!!
Flew to Goodyear, got the car and flew to the docs, but not before warning my friend, make sure your phone is working before they leave!!!
I guess they got her back up and running but I would have loved to have been there to find out what the problem actually was. (Danged toe!!) I have to call her shortly to see what she can tell me.
By the way, the tech did change the port at the VRAD, but still was not getting a good signal from the NID, and after he verified what I told him, no phone service, he put in a call to I&R.
He seemed to feel the problem was on the ouside of the house, but couldn't be 100% sure.
I'm finally in the right place at the right time and I couldn't stay!!!
Thank goodness for the DVR because I am not sure I will be awake too much longer and will miss my programs tonight!
