Yeah, saw that same forecast Dave and we've been lucky about getting bypassed by the snow storms here. Even if we don't have a blizzard temps around 32-35 are not good with lots of moisture above.
I remember the blizzard of '78' well but seems like ice storms are even more disastrous. My furnace went out in the '78' blizzard but I was totally w/o power for 8 days with last major ice storm. Flip a coin on what's worse but I'd have to say ice. 
Guess we need to start hoarding food/supplies for whatever comes. LOL. Really need to install my snow plow/frame on my lawn tractor which is a real pain.
Believe all the northern states, along the Great Lakes, have been hit hard by snow. Some parts of NY have almost 4' of snow.
