Hope they enjoy their profits because this will cause many people to cut back and will cause damage to the economy. If you spend it on gas you do not have it to spend else where. If people delay shopping trips to save on buying gas that may be the purchase of an item that keeps a company from making a profit.
I heard a story on the radio the middle man dealers were taking a beating because the prices were changing so fast at wholesale they would think they had a profit on a sell to a station that turns into a loss by the time they can deliver the gas.
If the price of gas was tied to how often I bought it I would be paid to not buy gas.
Are the increases in gas related to what could happen because of the events in these other countries, or because of what has happened? Because I haven't heard of any specific reasons why the oil prices are going up. Maybe I missed something that was stated in the many news broadcasts I have missed. I guess civil unrest is as good of an excues to raise prices as any.
