I was thinking from that picture that they're going to need to sedate that guy for removal! And they'll need heavy-duty leather gloves instead of rubber one. 
I haven't used Skype since it's inception, and only when it was voice. It was like a satellite phone, with a huge delay and feedback. We had HSI back then, but not as fast as today. Maybe it was the same thing, a cousin in the country I talked with only had dial-up.
