volume so low, box volume up
Lately we've had a problem with our volume.  The volume on the DVR is all the way up to 25.  The volume on our TV is up twice as high as it is when we're watching videos (ie, not using the cable box).  Right now we're watching a DVRd show (Bones :smileywink:) and we have to turn our TV volume up to the max.  Is there a fix to this?  Or is this a known problem?  Thanks!

Re: volume so low, box volume up

I have to turn it up on Bones (they both tend to mumble) too, but it's not all the way up on mine.  I find volumes higher on the HDMI

digital sound than the component analog (have to go about 10 points higher) sound. :smileywink:

Is your dvr connected to your by coax cable?  If so try connecting it to your tv using either component, composite, svhs, or hdmic outputs.  Your volume will go up substantially louder.

Re: volume so low, box volume up
Just to add up, if replacing the cables won't work the problem lies on the dvr. Have it replaced that's the best solution. Just inform tech support that you already done all necesessary troubleshooting steps. God bless!!!!

Re: volume so low, box volume up

Try to reboot the set top box first. Just to refresh your box, if it doesn't work you can program the u-vserse remote control by doing this process;

Volume Always Controls the Same Device

  1. Press and hold the AT&T key on the remote control.
  2. Without releasing the AT&T key, press and hold the OK key simultaneously.
  3. Release both the AT&T key and the OK key.
All the mode keys will flash twice indicating programming mode.
  4. Enter 955 by pressing the number keys on the remote control.
The AT&T key will flash twice indicating correct entry.
  5. Press the Mode key that they want to always receive the volume commands. The selected Mode key will flash three times indicating successful assignment and return to normal operation.
Note: The volume commands will now go to the selected device no matter what mode the remote control is in.
  6. Press the enter key. The AT&T key will flash three times indicating successful assignment and returns to normal operation

Volume Control Depends on Device Selected

  5. Press the ENTER key.
The AT&T key will flash three times indicating successful assignment and returns to normal operation.

There are two options there where you can do and follow.
