Well, I've been doing it...and by doing a Search for the movie.  I think the key is it has to be not today...if you look now for Driving Miss Daisy, you'll see a choice for today that is PLAY only (but you can pause it and come back whenever), and 2 other choices in the next week--those offer the Record option.

 

Edit--And I am talking about the free VoD that comes with U400, so it might be different on VoD that you pay to rent?

Of course those (Driving Miss Daisy) have the option to record. Those are being shown on  the HBOSIG channel (807)
