Re: csn-chicago

From the DirecTV site, http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageIF.jsp?assetId=P3000004

For zips 53545 thru 53548 the following is available........

Comcast SportsNet (Chicago)  - HD Available
  • Cubs (HD Available)
  • White Sox (HD Available)
  •
    FSN North  - HD Available
  • Brewers (HD Available)
  • Milwaukee Bucks (HD Available)
  • Minnesota Wild (HD Available)
  •

If you aren't getting that now, then it sounds like the programmers have once again, screwed up someones zip code. Are you in one of the above zips? If so, call TS (level 2, don't even fool with level 1) and tell them they need to contact programming to fix the problem.

Good luck. This has happened to plenty of us and it can take some real pushing to get it corrected. Tier 2 doesn't like to contact programming and the programmers are noted for never admitting they might make a mistake.

Apparently you don't understand that what DirecTV has for the regional areas is what Uverse should also have, save for maybe an HD offering of the SD channel, but I am pretty sure Chicago has CSN HD.

Now, perhaps you might like to go back and reread what I posted? Better yet, let me repost it for you!

I understand the Regional concept of all this, but how can a viewer out of a market request say CSN Chicago? Directv offers it on their sports pack in here in SoCal because I watch it all the time on my works gym but on uverse we get CSN Bay area, can one ask for one csn over the other because clearly I wouldn't be in either market anyway.

If it's part of the sports pack then you can get it via the sports pack.  Most of what you'd probably want to watch will more than likely be blacked out, but hey, feel free to add it.

    Two more quick questions.

Which package do you have and do you see channel 741 listed in the guide lineup in the on screen menu on the TV?

Well, I checked several places and in Milwaukee, they do show 741 which is Comcast Sports Net Chicago, but when I put your zip code in here https://uma.att.com/uma/RetrieveChannelLineup?ZIP=53140&packgeList_select=0&channelList_select=&APPI... it doesn't show 741.

I'm at a loss for why it shows channel 741 in Milwaukee and Green Bay, but not for you in Kenosha.

It's possible that it will actually be in your lineup when you get the service, but we won't know till your service is installed. I would think you should have it though, based on the DTV site.

I messed up and forgot to put your zip in and instead, went thru the city listings. You will get it as your zip is listed in the Milwaukee South area. However, it doesn't show up in the listings as an HD channel, but, I understand that most areas that do have CSN Chicago, do also have it in HD.

I'm sorry about the mix up. Guess my brain is still not functioning today. :smileywink:

This is where I made my goof.

    http://www.att.com/gen/sites/iptv?pid=8528&DCMP=att_ubelong

You can go there, click on TV Listings and use the option to search by zip code.

It does not show CSN Chicago in HD and don't really know if you will get it or not, but it definitely shows 741 CSN Chicago, plus, 744 Fox Sports Net North, also listed in HD 1744. :smileywink:

I don't understand why I can't get comcast chicago in Oak Creek (south suburb of Milwaukee).  I used to have Directv and could get both FSN North and Comcast Chicago.   Is anybody around here getting it?

As was explained to mmmason, you should be getting it.

It shows up in the lineup here, which is under Milwaukee when I put in your zip code, 53154.  http://www.att.com/gen/sites/iptv?pid=12596

If you are not getting chanel #741 or 744 or 1744, then you need to call TS and have them contact programming and find out why. According to the above site, those channels should be available to you, so don't let them give you a lot of excuses as to why you shouldn't be getting them.

I don't have the sports pack...should I still get Comcast sports chicago?   When I had Directv I didn't have the sports pack and could still get Comcast sports Chicago.

From the MLB map that someone posted here recently, folks between Milwaukee and Chicago are in a hybrid area and should be able to see teams from both cities.

If you're not getting both, you need to call AT&T and complain. You also should contact both RSN's and let them know that AT&T isn't providing their signal as they should. Working this from the RSN side may get you more traction.

    What package do you have?

Okay, let me think.....I am not sure, but even without the sports package, I think you will still get 744, FSN North, but to get CSN Chicago, I think you need the Sports Package.

But like I said, I am not sure and the channel lineup page that I looked at elsewhere than the link I posted, doesn't show CSN Chicago. It may be that that page needs to be updated. I really do not know.

If you are in a hybrid area, you should get any and all RSN's that are "local" to you by league standards.

Would that include CSN Chicago? I know FSN North will be there, just not sure of the other station.
