So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
These were all season passes. On Monday I show scheduled for tonight:

7:00 Real World Sydney (deleted)
8:00 Kid Nation (deleted)
        Pushing Daisies (deleted)
        Back to You (deleted)
9:00 Bionic Woman (deleted)
10:00 Life (not deleted)

Well after wasting much time I finally figured out why Real World Sydney is not recording. It's because the East Coast feed of MTV no longer exists for me. These frickin geniuses at U-Verse decided that it is not my right to watch Real World Sydney when the majority of the country is. I now have to watch it another day (because 10 pm PST is too late for me) and discussing it online will be old news by the.

Now, I haven't a clue as to why 30 programs that were there on Monday are now gone. It looks like most of my season passes are screwed up and I will have to delete most of them and then redo them. And please let's not blame each individual station for this screwup. What? CBS, ABC & NBC all of a sudden sent different program data that caused my Wednesday programming to disappear? Let's use some common sense here folks.

My apologies to those here who seem to defend U-Verse no matter what the facts state, but it really seems that U-Verse is doing everything to piss their customers off and in the process, lose them. When I signed up in May I really, really, really, really, really thought I was going to be with U-Verse for many years to come.

But this system, it's software/hardware really seems that it was programmed by a bunch of amatuers. Yes, I know that Microsoft programmed the software, but they were really busy with Vista & Office 2007 and it really seems that their interns were assigned to program this DVR software.

Shame on AT&T for settling for faulty software and hardware in order to sign up as many customers as fast as possible.

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
And now I go to start watching Kid Nation and it says that I am not subscribed to that station and I cannot play it back that way. Luckily I had this problem many times in the past, so I change to live television (Channel 2 CBS) and I reverse back 10 minutes and start watching it that way. This software is so amazing in that it passed all of the QC testing, beta testing and the last 2 years of live use testing and still it has these basic problems. :smileymad:

I lost all of my future recordings too about the same time. I assume it had something to do with the update to the channel lineups. I had customized my guide so the most frequently watched channels were grouped at the top and it all got reordered when they took away the west and stuff. I still had the programs listed in the series section to be recorded, but no recordings were scheduled. I had to delete all of them and redo. I agree, the software needs work.

Same here.  We went to the State Fair of Texas last night and when I got home I was surprised to see that none of the shows that I had scheduled had recorded.  The only saving grace is that Bionic Woman is replayed Friday night on Sci-Fi.

What happend?

Same here, all prime-time local recordings were not scheduled to record.  I'd like to see the software updated... but I'm also afraid that while fixing one bug they will introduce many others:smileysad:

If the channel you had set to record was one that was renumbered, then yes the recording probably did need to be reset in order for the recording to work. If it is on Fox for the next two weeks, it was probably because of baseball.

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
Same for me last night...

I have these series scheduled to record:
  • Bionic Woman = NBC
  • Chuck = NBC
  • Doctor Who = BBC America
  • Flash Gordon = Sci-Fi
  • Heroes = NBC
  • Kid Nation = CBS
  • Survivor: China = CBS
  • Torchwood = BBC America

As of last night the only upcoming recordings are Doctor Who on Saturday and the following Saturday. I deleted all of my series recordings last night and rescheduled them. Everything looked good... this morning back to the te same as last night. The series show they are set to record, but the only upcoming recordings are on Saturday, Doctor Who. Now I love the Doctor and Ia m sure of all people he has the power to see he is recorded, but seriously! I even performed a soft rest on the STB this morning with no luck. DO I need to RE-re-schedule the series recordings?

:robottongue:

Oh and no FOX recordings and the stations were not reordered/renumbered

Yep, I spent a good 30 minutes on my PC last night having to redo all my scheduled recordings as well. It was not big deal for me since I was going to have to do it anyway (had to switch everything from SD to HD recording)

But it was annoying that I had to do it so soon, I was planning on doing it this weekend.

Side note, **bleep** CW 33, when are you going HD!!!!

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
I am new to U-verse and the same thing happened to me last night.  All the shows I had setup to record were gone.  I thought that it may have been my fault as when I setup the "Season Pass" (Sorry, just migrated from the TiVo world), I told it to only record first run shows.  I was thinking that maybe it did not know these episodes were first run and did not record.  I deleted the season pass and re-built it with the setting of record first run and repeats and now it is working.

I wish U-verse listed the shows that are not being recorded and their reason (like TiVo).  If I had a season pass and it did not record, I could look at a list and it would tell me why (ie: Show was recorded within the last 30 days, etc.)

hogrunr, you really seem to be an apologist for U-Verse. I specifically stated that CBS, NBC & ABC were the ones that I was having problems with and they haven't changed channel #'s.

That being said, guess what? Most of my future records magically reappeared this morning.

WTF!!!! I spent 30 minutes resetting all of my recordings and now when I go to the Web remote, they are all gone. I am talking about the ones that are on Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS, and CW(channels that did not change)

I will have to check my DVR at home to make sure. Maybe it is a problem with the Web remote. My shows recorded last night, but today, they are all gone.

Chris I stopped referring to your posts at all days ago. I was talking to the person that posted right above my post not yours. You are not interested in keeping Uverse in any way, so I am not really interested in helping you complain.

Nesto, I would definitely check teh DVR at home to see what is going on. I have found that the web remote has issues of it's own that Yahoo needs to fix.

Okay, sorry if it seemed like I was attacking you. As I said before, once I leave U-Verse, I won't be posting here anymore and you won't have to put up with me. :smileyvery-happy:

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
Ok so I need to respond without anyone thinking that I'm adding to the rant or that I really don't want uverse.  Of course I want uverse, I love my employee discount.  anyway.............

I'm having the same *(&_(*&_(*&_(*& issue.  I shouldn't have to reset my "season passes" because Uverse took a dump.  and it's not just FOX stations, it is ALL of the local affiliates as well as TLC, SciFi, and Food Network.  I understand that Fox is having baseball right now, but the others aren't. They are in the Guide as new, but not scheduled to record.  I don't have the time to set up each days recordings as I have two small kids and a husband that works nights.  The only reason we have so many "season passes" is because the only time I'm able to watch anything is 5 am or after 10 at night.  It's frustrating and it needs to be fixed.

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
Had the same thihng happen last night again so I called Tech Support and they sent someone out this morning and fixed it.  Seems Uverse if very aware of this problem and has an update scheduled for this weekend that will hopefully repair it.  In the meantime here's what the tech did today to get it back to working again.

Unplug link from back of DVR that goes to RG
Unplug power cord from back of dvr
Unplug power cords from each of the various set top boxes you may in the house
Unplug the power cord from the RG
Wait 1 minute and then plug in RG and wait for it to be green on all lights
Plug in power cord to DVR
Plug in link cable in back of DVR
Wait until DVR is completely rebooted and showing tv, hit recorded tv to see if DVR part is fully functional yet, if not wait until it shows the dvr screens
Plug in remaining set top boxes througout house
Verify if all your regularly scheduled recordings are back in the scheduled recording sections.

This worked for me 2 weeks ago and again today with tech on site.

But my question is, why did this happen all of a sudden and why does there have to be an update to fix this? It doesn't makes sense to me, unless they pushed thru an update a couple of days ago without telling us about it.

Or the easier version, just throw the main breaker and shut your whole house down then restart everything including the coffee maker just in case it interferes with quality Microsoft Uverse software...

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
Jessika: don't take my post the wrong way, me and Chris have a little bit of a history on other threads and he had already informed us on those thread that he would be leaving Uverse.

So I'm assuming that most peoples problems with this occurred starting Monday right? Well they did the new channel additions on Monday, and probably when they did this they screwed up some software along with it. I've heard that the date for the software update is the 23rd, which would be on Tuesday. Maybe they have an additional one this weekend to fix this since it affects so many people. It'd be nice to see them use a little common sense like that.

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
I just got off the phone with tech support and the rep I was talking to knew nothing about this issue. I hope he was just uninformed, be he said there is no software update scheduled anytime in the near future with the exception of their own internal system. He also seemed amazed that a channel lineup change would all of a sudden affect peoples series recordings. Maybe it's because he is a front line guy and perhaps Tier 2 support would have more informaiton, but according to this rep, he was completely unware of problem regarding this issue.

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
Yeah I was on with tech support last night and the Tier II guy I talked to didn't even know about the series recording issue until after he talked to his boss. I think that's the most annoying thing about the tech support so far, is that the only thing the Tier I people can do for you is tell you to reset the box, anything beyond that you have to go to Tier II. Even when it is a known issue they don't pass the information down the line and they just leave their techs uninformed which just makes them look like idiots.

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
So then that leads to the next questions, are they fixing this issue or not? I seems like more than just a coincidence that all of a sudden most people's scheduled recording just started disappearing (though some have been experiencing it longer). I can certianly do a full reset, and plan to do one when I get home. The problem is something broke when the channels were realigned. Some people are stating AT&T has acknowledged this is an issue. It would be nice to see if there really is a fix coming.

I checked my DVR at home and it matched my web remote. I deleted all of my series once more and re-entered everything. Lets see if 3rd time is the charm.

So when I got home last night I tried the steps outlined earlier in this thread... The "Whole Home Reset" bit. This did not do a darn thing for me, but I did as nesto1 did and rescheduled my series recordings and as of this morning all looks good. I am with you nesto1... third times a charm *crosses fingers*

I lost all my scheduled recordings last night too.  {Please do not go around the word filter}!?!?!?!  It takes a long time to reset all those recordings.

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
I'm beginning to see now....I think. Since the recordings are actually scheduled offsite, it sounds like they are having issues more with the servers that they use for this than it being peoples actual DVR's. The series recording settings are not actually on each individual DVR box.

When I was on the phone with tech the other night, they definitely acknowledged that they were having a series recording issue, and that they were working to fix it.

Re: So, all of a sudden I lose about 30 future scheduled recordings!
Ahhh... now see if this indeed the case, recording schedule stored at a central location/in a central database then hogrunr may be spot on. I was thinking they were stored locally and the "web remote" just access ed your STB, but a central database accessed by the STB/DVR and the Web remote makes a lot of sense and having an issue there would account for what we are seem to be experiencing...
