However, I use McAfee's security suite on my office computers (as that is the choice of our corporate IT) and would join others in recommending that you use something else.  Microsoft's Home Essentials is one good choice.  I have been using AVG as well (version 9 is not the performance hog that version 8 was).  Both are free.

I work as tech support for a major software provider and definately do not recommend McAfee.  I personally use Microsoft Security Essentials and have recommended it to our customers as well.  What better anti-virus to work well with WIndows other than one written by Microsoft.
