Rude collection manager

Hello, I am a very new customer of AT&T. I have the U-Verse internet service only. My first day of services began on Feb 27 2012, When I first inquired about the services I was advised that I would received a $100.00 rebate card to pay for the price of the equipment. I was advised that the card would arrived in the mail 4 to 6 weeks after my service has begun and that I could use that card to pay my first bill. I was advised that my internet monthly payment would be about  $25.00 with tax and fees included,Well when my first bill came and it was about 244.00. I was billed an intallation fee and also 100.00 equipment fee. I called your customer service department concerning my bill and I was advised to pay everying except the equipment fee and that they would place the 100.00 on a payment arrangement to give time for the reward card to arrive in the mail. So I did, I paid 144.00 that day and 3 days later my account was suspended. I contact customer service and they did apologized and activated my account again. it is now June 3,2012 and my reward card has still not came and my services are still being suspended due to the 100.00 equipment charge. If I was told before I received my internet service that I was going to have to pay for the equipment I would have not signed up for this service. I feel that I have been miss lead and that I will never received this reward card. I have contact the reward department 4 times and twice theytold me that they did not have the file from the customer service depaetment showing that I indeed have services since then they have advised me that they have  received the file on May 5, 2012 and that I will received the card soon. but mean time I am again without service due to the equipment charge. I no that $100.00 dollars is not alot to most people but I am disabled and my income is very limited that is why I have waited so long to received internet services. On Friday June 1 2012 I called 1-800-288-2020 and was routed to the collection department and spoke to a manager named Ms. Anderson she was very rude and kept cutting me off as I tried to explain the problem. I know that she don't care about my financial status but to be so rude is not the type of customer service I expect to received from this company.

On what date was the payment due under the payment arrangement?

By the way, collectors can be rude to people who are delinquent on their account.  That's the nature of collections.

You might send a PM to Alex who is an AT&T Community Manager on this forum to see what can be done to resolve this.

Also, check the settings on your account to make sure that you will receive email notification when a PM is received on this forum.
