be fine, but it's not.  The HOME ADDRESS, (service address) is precluded from being hooked up by ATT for ONE YEAR. 

 

The only work-around would be to put the home phone, Internet and Uverse in my husbands name (we have different last names)

 and make it look like he's a new tenant.  But, ATT said my Internet will be down for 6 business days while they make the switch, and I work from home, so that is not an option.

 

How are you former DirecTV customers getting ATT U-verse?   I'm desperate, 3 weeks without TV is too long and going with the cable company is not an option because we won't have the NFL Sunday Ticket in Sept., just a few months away.

 

I can never go back with DirecTV I told them where to stick it and copied the CEO  the email, sent back all the equipment and paid off the bill, they told me that there would be no early termaintion charge and there was not one on my bill.   I have a ZERO balance.  HELP! :smileyhappy:


Also had Directv for very long time (7 years) and think they are the scourge of the earth. Just cringed when AT&T U-verse added them as a service option.

Had no problem in going to U-verse from Directv but waited until UV was installed first before canceling. Saw where one of the posters said that the NFL package is available on Directv, but not U-verse. When you tried to place your order with U-verse did you tell them you wanted the NFL package with your order? If so this could be where the problem is since you would be still be requesting Directv but through a different provider (U-verse). Could see where they may be able to put a block on this.

 

Evidently your internet is not currently with AT&T or there would not be a 6 day delay/down time for this service.
