I've had power outages many times since I've had Uverse installed 7/08 and never lost a single recording from them.
Now if you're taling about the Recordings section missing after a reboot, I've seen that. A hard reboot, power unplugged/plugged in for 30 seconds, brought the Recordings section back.

Same here, and our power goes out a LOT!
There are times that an STB will say Recordings are not available, when they in fact are on the DVR and other STBs. When that happens, a simple Reset will bring them back.
(Reset--Power button on front, hold 5 sec., and release.)

Actually spd, my Recordings were missing after a reboot of the DVR, no response from the Recorded TV button and no Recordings listing on the menu.
