VOIP Phones

Sorry if this has been hashed to death in this forum, but here it goes.
I have ATT Uverse voice and am okay paying for that service. But I want to use an IP phone with ATT Uverse Voice so that I can tap into features like accessing my extensive address book on my MAC. Can I use a VOIP phone on the ATT Uverse Voice service now?
Thanks in advance for all replies!

You can not use a VoIP "phone" on Uvoice since the RG outputs standard dial tone. If you wanted to use a VoIP phone you would have to get a seperate SIP VoIP phone and sign up with a carrier like Vonage, etc. That phone would connect to your RG or a data switch and access the services thru the internet connection.

If you are not aware of this uverse VOip page you may find it useful www.uversecentral.att.com and use your master account login info setup during registration to access.
