What is an image gallery and how do I view it?
An image gallery is a collection of images that you or another community member have uploaded and shared. Any community member with permission to upload images has an image gallery. You can use your image gallery page to upload and/or share images with other users.
You can view your own image gallery and those of other community members. When you look at another user's gallery, you only see images that the user has chosen to share.
To see your image gallery:
- Click your user name at the top of any community page. A preview of your image gallery displays on the right side of your Profile page.
- Click View Image Gallery.
To view another user's image gallery:
- Click the community member's user name to go to that user's Profile page. A preview of that user's shared images displays on the right side of the Profile page.
Click View Image Gallery.

How do I insert an image in a post?
It’s easy. You insert an image the same way you did before, but now you have more choices about where the image comes from and how it looks.
You can insert an image from:
- Your computer (uploads to your gallery)
- Your image gallery (if it’s approved)
- Another location on the Web
To insert an image in a post:
- Start a new post. You can insert images in messages, replies, blog articles, ideas, or comments.
- Click Insert Image in the editor's toolbar (it looks like a tree).
- Choose one of the sources listed below.
To insert an image from your computer:
- Select the From My Computer tab.
- Click Browse to select a file.
- Type a title for the image
- Click Hide in Gallery (Private) to keep the image private until your post displays.
- Choose an image size
- Full size inserts the image at the original file’s full size
- Small, medium, and large insert images at the sizes defined for your community.
We don't stretch images, so very small images won't get bigger no matter what image size you choose.
6. Choose how you want the image aligned.
- Left aligns the image to the left of the post. Any text that comes after the image displays to its right.
- Inline inserts the image where your cursor is located. If you add a return after the image, any text you add displays below the image.
- Right inserts the image to the right of the post. Text displays to the left of the image. If you add a lot of text, it will wrap under the image.
To insert an image from your image gallery:
- Select the From My Gallery tab
- Click the image
- Choose an image size
- Choose how you want the image aligned
- Click Insert Image

What is a private image?
A private image is one that only you can see.
Whenever you upload an image, you decide whether to display it in your image gallery and choose the appropriate setting.
Want to make an image public? That’s the default setting. Don’t want to share it until you insert it in a post? Make the image private.
To change the privacy setting for an image:
- From your gallery page, select the image you want to change by clicking the box below it
- Choose either Image Options > Make All Checked Images Public or Private
