What is a Kudo?
The Kudos
content rating system lets you vote for messages you consider useful or important.
When you give a message a Kudo (or Kudos), you?re offering good content a thumbs up and giving its author a pat on the back. Your Kudo helps boost the value of certain messages and enhance the reputation of their authors.
All it takes to give a Kudo is a single click, but its impact ripples across the community.

How can I see who else has given Kudos to a message?
Want to see who likes a particular message? It's easy to find out which regular community members and experts give Kudos to a message.
To see who's given Kudos to a message:
- Go to the message page.
- Click the
Kudos total. The Who Kudoed This Message page shows you all the community members who've given Kudos to the message. - Select the Experts tab to see Kudos awarded by high-ranking members of the community. Experts are usually moderators or users with a Kudos weight of 1 or more.
- Click the User Name or Kudos link to sort by the user who gave the Kudos or by the Kudos count.
Note that kudos from community experts carry more weight than those from new members.
-
What is Kudos weight?
Your Kudos weight represents the number of Kudos you give whenever you click a Kudos badge.
If you're new to the community, you?ll probably give Kudos one at a time (your Kudos weight is 1).
More experienced community members might have a higher Kudos weight. As a result, they can give two, ten or more Kudos every time they click.
-
Why can't I give Kudos to some messages?
There are a few reasons why you may not be able to give Kudos to a post. For example:
- You've already given Kudos to the message (you can only give them once).
- You wrote the message (you can't Kudo your own messages).
- Your community manager wants you to give Kudos only to a message that starts a thread and not to replies.
- Your community manager has turned Kudos off for a message or a forum.
- Your community manager has frozen Kudos for a message. You can still see how many Kudos the message has received but you can't Kudo it any more.
-
The Kudos number is gone. Where did it go?
Sometimes a message gets so many Kudos that we run out of space and can't display the number.
When that happens you'll see a Hot Kudos symbol or icon instead of the Kudos count.
