Registered members can add tags. Any user can view tags. -
What is a tag?
A tag is a single keyword that is applied to a post to describe a topic, theme or category. A post can have multiple tags. For example, a post about an iPhone might be tagged with MMS, 3.1, update, wireless, apps. Remember, entering multiple words separated by spaces creates multiple tags, not one continuous phrase. -
What is a tag cloud?
A tag cloud is a visual representation of frequently used tags.
The tags that are used most often display in larger font sizes. Tag clouds are useful because they show you at a glance which topics or terms are ?hot? in a particular area of the community. -
What can I do with tags?
You can use tags for all kinds of useful purposes. For example, you might use a tag to bookmark, categorize, or identify a post. A well-chosen tag is a great way to help other users find interesting posts or content. -
Why do people tag?
Some users tag posts for their own reference to make it easy to find something later. Others use tags to categorize interesting posts for the benefit of the community. Tagging lots of posts is a great way to boost your status and be included on a Tag Leaderboard. -
What is an acceptable use of tags?
There are several acceptable ways to use tags. You can tag to:- Describe a topic, theme, or category
- Bookmark related items
- Categorize messages
- Group content by user (e.g. if Caretaker posted in a thread, you might tag his message or the thread with the tag "Caretaker," "Moderator," and/or "MsCool"

Are there uses of tags that are not acceptable?
Tagging etiquette discourages the use of tags in certain ways. For example, tags shouldn't:- Insult, demand or belittle
- Be irrelevant (e.g. of, and, it, is, I, the)
- Be used to show agreement or disagreement

How do I tag?
Tagging isn't just useful, it's easy! To tag, just:- Navigate to an interesting message or comment. When you're at a place where you can read the whole message, look for the Tags area at the bottom of the post.
- Type a single-word topic into the Add Tag field. You can type more than one tag. Just make sure to add a space after each tag
- Click the Add Tag button.

Where are my tags?
Can’t find the messages you’ve tagged? Here are two easy ways to find them:
- Visit your profile and choose a tag
- Click on the tag on any tag cloud and look for the “My Most Tagged Messages” section

What if I find abusive or inappropriate tags?
If you come across inappropriate tags, we encourage you to report them. Here’s how:
- Click Report Inappropriate Content on the message with the tag
- Leave a message in the field describing the tag(s) you find offensive
